Utility workers needed at Nova Scotia Health Authority Canada

Nova Scotia Health Authority is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia. We are over 22,000 employees who provide health care and support services in hospitals, health centres and community-based programs throughout Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

Answering to the Assistant Manager, the Utility Worker keeps up the neatness of the medical clinic. Exercises incorporate cleaning, wiping and tidying all regions in the emergency clinic. Other work would incorporate floor care (scouring and waxing floors), shampooing of rugs and seats, squander evacuation (perilous waste and normal waste), synthetic spill cleanup, clothing errands, room set-ups, window cleaning (inside), some salt application amid winter months, segregation room cleaning, flood and bloodspill clean ups. 

Qualifications

Candidates must show in their application/continue that they meet the accompanying criteria:
  • Grade 12/GED required
  •                                               Effective communication skills
  • Preference will be given to applicants with cleaning and floor care experience
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Please Note: Frequent physical demands include extensive standing and walking, bending, lifting, pulling and pushing and transferring/transporting equipment.

Hours of Work


  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts; 9:00am-5:00pm and every second weekend
Salary Information

Utility Worker:
$16.6707 – $17.3653 hourly
